You may have noticed that we have a different look. We hope you like it.

Some may be asking why the change, so we thought we would write a letter to explain. Numi started in 1999 as a labor of love by a brother and sister. I am the sister and artist who painted all of the original artwork featured on our packaging, many inspired by my brother’s photography. The paintings were ephemeral and reflective, soft and provocative, alluding to exotic, faraway places. While we have loved having them on the fronts of all our boxes, and it’s been an honor for me in particular, after 11.5 years, we have decided to refresh our packaging.

While the paintings are beautiful, they did not reflect the quality and taste of our teas. They created atmosphere and romance, but did not communicate what makes us stand apart from many other teas, which is flavor. Many have picked up our boxes because of the packaging, but most continue to purchase them because of their subtle and exquisite tastes. We use a fuller leaf tea and blend our teas and herbs with 100% real fruits, flowers and spices. Nothing else. This creates a superior, natural and authentic taste that we are extremely proud of, and that certainly can’t be beat. Our new packaging highlights the fine ingredients in our teas and still maintains a painterly quality aesthetic throughout the packaging.

With the change in packaging, we took the opportunity to tell more of our story and reflect our values as a company. We are committed to pure tea, people and the planet. Not only do we describe the efforts we make to minimize our waste and protect the planet, but we portray the people involved in bringing you each of the teas, whether it’s the Fair Trade garden where the tea hails from, or our Operation tea’m’s diligent efforts. The side of the box still maintains the original artwork as well as the inside of the box, which can be cut out and framed. If you are so inclined, we have created limited edition prints of the original artwork that can be purchased on our Store – Specials page.

Our new website is designed to highlight the Numi difference. We hope you enjoy navigating through it to learn about our company and our teas. We appreciate your continued support through our transition.
