Philanthropy
We are committed to supporting non-profit organizations that are doing incredible work in their communities. While we donate to organizations that support the environment, K-12 and college education and health related issues, we as a tea’m also strive to do our part within our own community.
If you have an event coming up and would like to submit a donation request, please send your inquiry to donations@numitea.com. Please keep in mind that we require a 30-day lead time.
Numi also supports our Community through volunteerism. We give our employees four paid hours each month to volunteer for a non-profit in one of four areas: the environment, food (such as promoting organics), social services, and education. Additionally, we plan a half day each quarter where we all take part in an activity to benefit a local non-profit.
Community Gatepath
Numi co-packs its Assorted Boxes and Gift Packs with Community Gatepath: Turning Disabilities Into Possibilities Their mission is to “enable children and adults with disabilities to achieve their full potential in health and work, and to live as fully integrated members of the community.” Numi has been a loyal vendor of Community Gatepath for more than a decade.
Tea Garden
Located in Embarcadero Cove’s “Jingletown” of Oakland, California, the Numi Tea Garden was open in 2007. It is an extension to the Numi offices as well as a space open to the public. With plants abounding, a fountain, world music playing in the background and Numi artwork on the walls, it serves as a tea oasis where guests can enjoy hours of relaxation. There is free wi-fi and light fare while tea is served Gongfu style. The Numi Tea Garden is open Wednesday – Sunday, 11am-6pm, has a stage with live performances and is available for rent.
